Damn, how bad is Prodigy doing in life that he was willing to say "Put ya diamonds in the sky" on a record for one of Jay-Z's artists? I guess it is only so long fake thugs can pretend.
Anyway, this was a pretty decent record. I'm sure it will be overrated by the backpacking masses, but it definitely wasn't life changing, nor worth a full day of waiting. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song, just not the life changing shit I was expecting.
Fuck all that though, somebody lock Jay Elect in the studio while he's still there so he can finish this damn album. Niggas call your album Detox because the shit is taking forever my dude.

He was sentenced to 2 years in prison, and now he'll be doing for. Tough break.
Shout out to all the people saying "fuck the police" and all that. The police didn't sentence him and the police didn't make him violate the terms of his release. They're an easy scapegoat, but at some point people are gonna have to take accountability for their actions. Do I think the 2 year sentence was harsh for his crime?? Yes, of course, but don't give them a reason to give you more time. Especially when there was a possibility he'd only have to serve 1 year if he had good behavior. Niggas.
Anyway, speaking of niggas and prison...
2) DMX Owes IRS $1.5 Million In Back Taxes
You know the secretly saddest part about all these niggas that owe back taxes?? They, and DMX especially, made so much more money while they were hot than they actually owe the IRS. If you told me in 2000 that DMX would owe $1.5 million in back taxes in 2009, I would've probably laughed and said he could write a check and take care of that in a few minutes. Sadly that isn't the case for him at this point. He's not only fallen off, but he's fallen ALL the way off. Very sad.
3) Shaunie O'Neal Files For Divorce From Shaq
Wait a minute, didn't this already happen like 2 years ago?? You know what?? I think it did, but instead of Shaunie divorcing Shaq, Shaq was divorcing Shaunie. Yeah, I remember that because I did a celebritory Somebody's Gonna Get Pregnant piece on her sexy ass being single in 2007!
Whatever, this sucks for Shaq because he's gonna probably lose half of his shit, but I feel most sorry for Lebron. If he thought Shaq slowed down their offense in these first 7 games, he ain't seen nothing yet. Ideally all that's going on should make Shaq angry and play better, but at 37, I don't think that's gonna happen.
(Side note: Did you know Shaunie's real name is Va'Shaundya?? Come on black people, we gotta do better!)
(Side note #2: Now that we see how instantly good the Suns are now that Shaq's gone, is it safe to say Steve Kerr's trade to bring him to Phoenix was one of the all-time worst trades??)

4) 50 Says Game & Buck Are Still Signed To G-Unit & Mobb Deep Isn't
M.O.P. being gone isn't news, we already knew they left last year, but I had no idea he dropped Mobb Deep. Didn't them niggas get G-Unit tattoos?? Welp that sucks lol. I should've known they were gone because I was just watching this video of 50 yesterday talking about one of his biggest regrets musically was jumping on Mobb Deep's track Pearly Gates. Should of been a red flag for me, but I missed it.
Now on Game and Young Buck, 50 needs to come out and define "kicked out of G-Unit" because he said that about about both Buck and Game and now he's saying their both still signed to the label. I guess he meant that they were kicked out of G-Unit the rap group, but he should've clarified that when he made the announcements they were gone.
And this is the label Beanie Sigel was dying to get to??

This Week In Flops 2/24/08
Its the triumphant return of This Week In Flops!!
First up in my boy Joey B.! Now, y'all know I'm a huge Joe Budden fan and I love Padded Room (I'm even thinking about reviewing it...but will probably get too lazy lol), but I'm thinking there's little to know chance of this album doing anything special. Though there will be physical product in some stores, most of his units will probably be sold digitally (hence him being on Amalgam Digital) and I'm not sure that shows up on SoundScan. I have 2 guessing: 50k-75k if the digital sales count, 25k-49k if they don't.
Last up is Havoc's new album Hidden Files. It probably should've been called "Hidden Album" because I had no idea it was coming out lol. No disrespect to Havoc or the Mobb's legacy, but we all know this shit ain't selling nothing. I'm gonna go with 7k-20k.

As you all should know by now, the boy Prodigy got hit with a 3 1/2 year gun possession sentence a few weeks ago. He doesn't go in until some time in January, and in his time left he called into Whoo Kid's show (POW! lol) to talk about his situation, how the bitch ass Hip-Hop cops wanted him to set-up 50 Cent, and even found time to throw a jab at Kanye. Nothing like some good ol' gully, disrespectful G-Unit! I don't watch Rap City anymore but if I knew 50 was going to be the permanent host I would most definitely tune in because this was their best show in AWHILE!:
