This Week In Flops 12/14/10

Before I start, I want to remind everyone that a Michael Jackson album called Michael also dropped this week. I would've included it in today's proceedings, but I felt uncomfortable with putting the King Of Pop under the title "flop."

Aight, we have a lot of albums to get through again, so I'm gonna make these short and sweet.

Dirty Money
First up, the Last Train To Paris. If you're one of Diddy's 3,121,625 followers on Twitter, you're well aware this album is now in stores. Hopefully it's not all for nothing like Soulja Boy and his 2 million-plus followers last week. For Last Train To Paris, I'll say 115-140k.

R. Kelly
All I've been hearing is good things about this R. Kelly album. I guess he's done making foolish tracks like Real Talk, and got back to the real shit that made him who he is. Is all the acclaim coming too late to sway his first week numbers?? Possibly, but he's the R, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say 80-110k.

Ciara
Ciara is still the sexiest chick with no body in the world, and I'd still pick her #1 overall in the Sex Draft, but I'm not sure anybody is checking for this album. I hope they are because I like her, but I just don't feel it or see it. I'm gonna say it falls in the 30-60.

Tank
Good ol' Tank is back at them again, and I think he's good for 30-60k.

Kandi
I don't know much about this project, but a lot of people watch that show she's on, so I'll say 20-45.

Sheek Louch
Donnie! Def Jam let's another one go under the radar, I'll say 10-25k.

D-BLOCK!!!

D-BLOCK!!
I was listening to Jadakiss and Styles P's So Appalled freestyle and just felt like posting some D-Block shit, so here we go!

Kiss and SP murderized this shit! They would've been a welcomed replacement for CyHi Da Prynce and RZA on the actual Kanye track. Unfortunately Kanye is too busy in the studio with losers like KiD CuDi and Soulja Boy to fuck with D-Block.

I wonder if Soulja Boy is gonna try to get at Jada for that line at the beginning of his verse?? Yeah, I doubt it.

Louch was murking the fuck out of this beat!

Pretty decent. This is just some good ol' D-Block shit right chea.

Random New Shit

Shakira

I like Shakira songs much better when they come along with a video, but this sounds pretty decent. Wayne was good, the beat was nice and radio friendly. Good enough.

Banger! I NEED the dirty version of this shit ASAP! I wonder if Sheek is working on a mixtape?? I definitely need some more new D-Block shit!

This shit is gritty and gutta and I fuck with it! He's not trying to do the punchline flow either so I'm definitely loving this track.

This sounded good for awhile but that "pushin dope" sample got annoying after about a minute.

This is NOT gonna be on Lasers and for that we thank you Lupe. This loud ass shit is actually gonna be on the Twilight soundtrack or some shit like that. The song isn't good enough for me to care to get the facts right lol.

This is some pretty fly shit, I fucks with it. I just hope he isn't gonna go with that Mr. Spacely nickname lol.

The Best of the Forgotten MuZik Pt. 1

Busta
I obviously haven't post much music lately BUT that's all gonna change right about.... NOW!

Haven't heard this type of track from Busta in a loooong time. I mean, if J. Holiday wasn't on it, you couldn't tell me this wasn't an unreleased track from some time between 1996-2003. Very old Busta. Not that there's anything wrong with the new Busta, but this is some shit I would've expected to hear on E.L.E. Either way, I fucks with this track.

Strong ass joint from David Banner! He turned into the Hulk for this shit. Something is wrong and the fact that no radio station would dare pick this up plays a part in the overall picture. Program directors would say its because of the somewhat anti-gay speech in the last verse, but they really wouldn't play it because they're too busy playing Soulja Boy and Stanky Legs.

Bully - Who The Fuck Is This? (feat. Sheek Louch)

Bully fits right in in D-Block like he was there the whole time. I don't know if he came up studying them or what, but he's spits their style perfectly. I fucks with Bully.

Cory Gunz is still super nice as you can hear. Not sure what this is/was on though because it wasn't on that Heir To The Throne mixtape with DJ Drama.

I'm not gonna front, I don't hate this song. Plus, its true because one disagreement with Chris Brown can transform any young lady from a bad bitch into a bloody, bruised mess (Shout out to Rihanna). Hey, fuck y'all, I ain't beat the girl up, he did lol.

I wonder if Jacki-O realized how much she sounded like a mixture between Foxy Brown and Lil Kim?? I don't mind it, but her and Fox obviously don't get along.

Anyway, I'm glad to see Jacki and Brisco have made up since that ugly wad of slap situation back in 2008. This track is really hot and we need more of this and less of that. Shouts to Mowet too, that dude has talent. Trust.

Jadakiss definitely won this match-up of NY lyricists. Good to see Rakim working though.

Damn I wish I could find this track without all those annoying tags! This track is fiyah! The beat is straight stupid and Maino and banks handle it properly. Definitely gets my co-sign and stamp of approval.

Thursday Billboard Update - 6/18/09

Damn, how did I forget to do a "This Week In Flops" last week?? I'm fucking' up, but I apologize. Anyway, lets move on to this weeks charts.

First off, Eminem's Relapse crosses over the 1 million sold mark this week with 87,500 to bring him to a total of 1,049,100. The Black Eyed Peas record their first #1 album this week as their The E.N.D. project pushes 304,000 units out of the stores. Mos Def is back on the charts as his new album The Ecstatic checks in at #9 with 39,400 sold. Right after that is Pleasure P with his debut solo album Introduction Of Marcus Cooper at #10 moving 39,000 records.

BEP cleaned up on the singles side too as it not only hangs onto the #1 spot with Boom Boom Pow, but also debuts a new one called I Gotta Feeling at #2. Can you say domination?? Sadly, with one new record in, one old record has to see the door and Jamie Foxx's Blame It finds itself exiting the top 10 after a respectable run. You will be missed.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (1)
2. Dave Matthews - Big Whiskey & The GrooGrux King (1-2)
3. Eminem - Relapse (2-3)
4. Chickenfoot - Chickenfoot (6-4)
5. Aventura - Last (5)
6. Lady GaGa - The Fame (8-6)
7. Miley Cyrus - Hannah Montana: The Movie sdtk (5-7)
8. Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown (4-8)
9. Mos Def - The Ecstatic (9)
10. Pleasure P - Introduction Of Marcus Cooper (10)

  • D-Block's debut album No Security comes in at #40 on the charts with 12,000 sold.
  • DJ Quik & Kurupt's collaboration album Blaqkout comes in at #61 with 9,000 copies sold.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10
first time top 10's in bold

1. Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow (1-1)
2. Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling (2)
3. Keri Hilson - Knock You Down (3-3)
4. Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) (2-4)
5. Lady GaGa - LoveGame (6-5)
6. Jeremih - Birthday Sex (4-6)
7. Lady GaGa - Poker Face (5-7)
8. Sean Kingston - Fire Burning (9-8)
9. Shinedown - Second Chance (7-9)
10. Beyonce - Halo (8-10)
  • After falling 18 spots last week, Drake's Best I Ever Had rebounds 9 and lands at #27.
  • And after falling 14 spots last week, Drake's Every Girl featuring Young Money (yes, that's what we're calling it now) also rebounds and is sitting at a new high in the #34 spot.
  • Jordin Sparks' new single Battlefield makes a 19 spot leap 65-46 within the past week.
  • KiD CuDi's new single Make Her Say featuring Kanye and Common debuts at #51.

Jadakiss - Who's Real (Remix) (feat. Eve, Drag-On, Styles P., Sheek, & DMX)

http://i39.tinypic.com/5exwuu.jpg
This is the remix people, stand up!

Much better than the original. I mean MUUUUUCCCHH better! So much better, I gotta wonder why they didn't think of doing this while making The Last Kiss?? X wasn't in jail for the whole time Kiss was making that album so it was possible. Makes more sense than putting O.J. Da Juiceman on it and making it the most skippable track on your album. Oh well, better late than never.

This Week In Flops 5/19/09

Normally, I don't list album that I think will sell over 250,000 units (had to lower it from 300,000 because no one was missing the cut lol), but Relapse is an except because by Eminem's bar is so high, there is no way he can do what he would've done 5-10 years ago in this climate (unless of course Interscope pulls a Carter 3 and buys most of the albums themselves lol). My guess for Relapse is 400-450k, though I could easily see him going over 500,000. Either way he'll have the #1 album regradless and according to Rick Ross, that's more important than what you actually sold lol.

Anyway, check out my review of this album if you haven't already.

Def Jam is really doing Red & Meth a disservice by making them drop an album the same day as Eminem. I guess this is some get back for them waiting 10 years to drop another album though lol. My prediction for Blackout! 2 is 50-80k.

Another rapper done a disservice by his label is Busta Rhymes. Why continuously push his album back and then land it on the same date Eminem makes his return?? After all the push backs you're telling me they couldn't move him a week or 2 in either direction?? Fucked up.

Anyway, I'm gonna put Busta in the 45-65k range.

(BTW, my review WILL be up later today so be on the look out.)

I'm still in disbelief that this album is coming out today even though I have it on my computer right now. There isn't even a Wikipedia page for this shit, let alone a first single or video. I just feel bad for Freeway so I'm not even gonna bother guessing because 1) I'm not convinced it'll be in stores 2) the number would be too disrespectful.

http://i42.tinypic.com/347k2no.jpg
This Sheek album is in the same boat as the Freeway album, I know its real because I have it on my computer, but there is no real real info to be found on this project anywhere. I'll pass on the guess.

Killah Priest: The Exorcist album cover art
Okay, enough of that passing shit, I'm ready to make a guess for this one. No disrespect to Priest, but I'm gonna rock with 500-2k.

Styles P & Sheek - Public Enemy #1/Keep Getting It In

First off I just wanted to say if you don't have that new SP Phantom Empire mixtape your life is fucked up right now. Okay, lets proceed with the music.

Styles P & Sheek Louch - Public Enemy #1 (feat. Bully)

I'm loving this of course.

Styles P & Sheek Louch - Keep Getting It In (feat. Snyp Lyfe & S.I.)

Loving this shit too. I believe both of these are gonna be on the D-Block compilation CD that's supposed to be dropping this summer. Normally I would think that it probably wasn't really coming, but with how well Jada did, I think its an actual possibility now.

D-Block - Get That Paper

Hip-Hop MuZik!

Slaughter House (Royce Da 5'9", Joe Budden, Crooked I, & Joell Ortiz) - Onslaught

Man, I don't even know who ripped is the hardest. This shit is crazy, I hope they do more tracks because our last super group (C.R.S.) hasn't done shit since their first track lol.

Sheek Louch - Can't Stop

Sheek is too much man. Only he can get away with a hook like this lol. This shit is jammin' though, I fuck with it. He's supposed to be dropping a mixtape or something on the 25th, but I don't remember where I read that so sorry lol.

Little Brother - Playin' To Lose

Dope beat, good lyrics, I co-sign with this.

Q-Tip Feat. Busta Rhymes - Gettin Up (DJ Scratch Remix)

I wish Scratch gave us another one of those New York Shit type beats (damn that joint was so classic!), but I guess this is all good too. Good old school shit and Busta ripped it.

Curren$y - You Love It

I always loved this beat...that's pretty much the only reason I'm posting this lol.

Nicki Minaj - Beam Me Up Scotty

Oh goodness, why do niggas try to spit their verses all proper?? I hate that shit lol. Either way I don't really get the point of this track, but okay lol.

Muzik!!

Time to get back to work on this muzik posting shit. I got some new shit to post so I figured I'd get rid of this stuff first.

Saigon Feat. Lil Fame - WW4

Sick, sick, sick!

T-Pain Feat. DJ Khaled - Karaoke (Clean)

Can't lie, Pain ripped this shit. He's not the best rapper in the world, but I've always liked his flow when he's spittin' from way back in the Nappy Boys "gimme yo' wallet, gimme yo purse" days. This record needed to be made because their is just entirely TOO MUCH T-Pain dick ridery going on right now. Only way we differ is I don't think Lil Wayne and Kanye should get a pass because its wack when they do it too.

DJ Big Mike Feat. Styles P, Sheek, DMX, & King Phaze - Yonkers Anthem

Good shit right here.

Glasses Malone - Number One

E. Ness - Slingshot Ness

DJ Green Lantern Feat. Styles P. & Cassidy - Make It Out

Papoose - All That

Man, when did Pap get so wack?? I mean damn, what the fuck is this shit?? Is it safe to say its over for him??

Trey Songz Feat. Johnta Austin - First Love

I pray Johnta wrote this song and recorded his verse for a female to sing. PLEASE let that be the explanation for his verse lol.

DJ Unk Feat. Ray J - She Freaky

I don't fuck with Unk and only fuck with Ray-J for comedic purposes, but this shit is kinda jammin'.

Mos Def - Life In Marvelous Times

I hope this isn't how the album is gonna sound.

The Game Feat. Kurupt - All These Hoes

VH1's 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs 41-60

Wow! After Tuesday's pretty decent list, VH1 reverted right back to the questionable picks that plagued the first 20 on Monday. I'm not even gonna say anything yet, take a look at this list and if you can't tell which songs stick out like a sour thumb then you're crazy!

60. LL Cool J - I Need Love
59. Ol' Dirty Bastard - Shimmy Shimmy Ya
58. Ludacris Feat. Shawnna - What's Your Fantasy
57. Big Daddy Kane - I Get The Job Done
56. Busta Rhymes - Woo Ha!
55. Terror Squad - Lean Back
54. MC Lyte - Cha Cha Cha
53. The Lox Feat. Lil Kim & DMX - Money, Power, & Respect
52. Foxy Brown Feat. Jay-Z - I'll Be
51. Doug E. Fresh & Slick Rick - The Show
50. Lil Wayne - Tha Block Is Hot
49. Boogie Down Productions - My Philosphy
48. Nas - One Love
47. Young MC - Bust A Move
46. De La Soul - Me, Myself, & I
45. Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks
44. Method Man Feat. Mary J. Blige - I'll Be There For You
43. The Game Feat. 50 Cent - Hate It Or Love It
42. Roxanne Shante - Roxanne's Revenge
41. Funky 4 + 1 - That's The Joint

Tha Block Is Hot is over The Show??? These niggas CAN'T be serious! Before we even get into why its bullshit to have Tha Block Is Hot this high, lets tackle why the hell is The Show is in the 50s! Seriously, the 50s??? One of the most classic Hip-Hop songs of all-time is in the freakin' 50s! There's NO reason why this shouldn't have been in the top 20 at least. Now back to Tha Block Is Hot, why is this #50?? Make 'Em Say Ugh is #94, but Tha Block Is Hot is #50?? Tha Block Is Hot wasn't even that big of a hit record back in '99! But now its the 50th greatest Hip-Hop songs?? Please! This Lil Wayne dick riding shit is getting out of control! I have no problem with the song being on the list because I know I loved it back in middle school, but come the fuck on, #50??

The other issue I had with this 20 was Hate It Or Love It all the way up at #43! Forty-fuckin'-three! Who else believe that is the 43rd greatest Hip-Hop song of all-time?? I know I probably couldn't find one person...hell, The Game probably doesn't believe that lol. This was a big record, but it wasn't THAT big. These niggas are insane! Again, I don't have a problem with this being on the list, but definitely not at 43. Maybe 90-somethin', along with Tha Block Is Hot, just not 43.

Sorry, I had to vent a little bit, but I'll be back with the next 20 sometime later depending on what time the debate wraps up.
