Trick Daddy - Chevy/I Like It

Autobiography Magic City: Trials of a Native Son
Trick Daddy's new book "Autobiography Magic City: Trials of a Native Son" hits stores this Tuesday on the 16th (you can order it on Amazon now), so here's a few tracks to get our heads right.

I love the Jocedi sample, but I would've liked this song a lot more if it was just Trick by himself. The hook could've been better as well, but I fuck with either way.

Classic Trick and Trina. Sounds like they've been sitting on this one for a long while.

Random News Shit: Entertainment Edition

1) 'Takers' Claims #1 Spot at the Box Office
When the numbers were first released, "Takers" was #2 to "The Last Exorcism" by about $300,000, but when the true numbers came out "Takers" was actually on top by about $150,000. Either way, in my mind, "Takers" was #1 regardless because it and "The Last Exorcism" made basically the same amount of money despite being shown in 668 less theaters nationwide. Per theater, "Takers" killed them.

And with that being said, I have no interest in seeing this movie. No real reason, just not interested.

2) Another Drake Album In 2010?
Slow down guys. It was a miracle that Drake's first album dropped at all, so let's not get our hopes up that the least album dropping label on Earth is gonna clean up its act and give us 2 in 1 year. It ain't happening. Cash Money, how about y'all focus on getting Nicki Minaj's album out this year and leave everything else alone?? Baby steps fellas.

3) Jay-Z & Yankees Team For Exclusive Apparel
And just when you thought Jay-Z had run out of ideas to make more money, BOOM! This apparel will ONLY be sold at Yankees Stadium and only through Sept. 14th. It's a damn shame I don't have family in New York anymore. Hmmm, my ex-girlfriend did tell me she's going to New York next week, though. I wonder if she'd grant me one last wish?? Fingers crossed.

Take a look at some of the goods courtesy of RapRadar. Some of that stuff would go great with the Hov "All Black Everything" Forces I don't own.

4) Full 'Dancing With The Stars' Cast Announced
Last week I told you The Situation was gonna be on the show (though I still wish it was gonna be Snooki), but here's a quick rundown of the rest of the cast:

Brandy Norwood, David Hasselhoff, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Warner, Margaret Cho, Kyle Massey, Audrina Patridge, Rick Fox, Florence Henderson, Bristol Palin and Michael Bolton.

Man, where's the Erin Andrews and Nicole Schegudgthzyrs?? What is DWTS without the hot ass??

5) Trick Daddy Working On 'www.thug.com 2'
The original 1998 classic still goes hard so thing is welcomed news. Hopefully this will help him get his mojo back, though his last album Finally Famous was pretty good. Unfortunately, there's no release date yet.

6) Ruff Ryders Records Is Now Ruff Ryders Indy
Look guys, it's over. The Ruff Ryder brand is gone, and it's never coming back. Never. Ever.

If they wanted to launch a new label, why didn't they just do it with a whole new name?? It's time to move on.

Random News Shit

LONDON - OCTOBER 7: Lil' Wayne performs at Hammersmith Apollo on October 7, 2009 in London, England.
1) Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty To Gun Charge, Gets 1 Year In Prison
Man, I bet he's really regretting the decision to kiss Baby in the mouth now. Well hopefully he won't be in there calling anybody else daddy. How often will Baby be allowed to come in for conjugal visits?? Will the state provide the KY Jelly or is it a B.Y.O.KY kinda thing?? If Wayne becomes a real life version of the chick in his song Kisha, is that considered copyright infringement?? If T-Pain comes to visit, will they auto-tune the phones connected to the glass?? Will Wayne steal the idea and auto-tune his first?? Does this mean The Rebirth is gonna be pushed back again?? Does this mean Cash Money/Young Money will be forced to let one of their other artists actually drop an album?? Do we need anymore proof the Tiny & Toya show was cursed??

Okay, I think that's enough. Just wanted to get all the bad jokes out the way now lol.

2) ESPN's Steve Phillips Admits To Sex Sandal, Takes Leave
This just goes to show that it don't matter who you are, or what you do, niggas still cheat lol. Its the sad truth, I know, I know.

This shit was wild though! This was about to be Steve McNair part 2 around this bitch. I wouldn't put it past her still.

Oh, and did you see the regular ass bitch he cheated with?? If I was ESPN, I'd fire his ass for cheating with somebody looking like that! C'mon son! Its no wonder she is went crazy, she probably never had dick before lol. At least be like Rick Pitino and make ruining your family worth while with somebody fine. I mean, I never saw his wife, but she's GOT to look better than this chick.

Anyway, check out the 911 call Phillips's wife made when Ug showed up at their crib.

3) R. Kelly To Release Untitled Album Dec. 1st
Can you believe this is only R. Kelly's 10th studio album?? I'll be interested to hear how this sounds and I'm praying for another classic like Real Talk lol.

4) Birdman Think Lil Wayne Should've Been #1
I'm not mad at his opinion, he's supposed to think Wayne should've been #1. Its like being a football player on an average or crappy team and being asked if you're gonna make the playoffs, of course you're gonna say yes. The problem I have his him talking about doing the most and having the most. Come on nigga, you know damn well Wayne is NOT making the kinda money Jay-Z is making. There's really nothing more to argue or say, he's just not. End of story.

5) Trick Daddy Wants To Hook Back Up With Trina
Seems like an easy thing to be done, right?? I know Trick left Slip N Slide and all, but he should be able to just call her up. I mean he's probably gonna have to write her verse anyway so it shouldn't be a problem.

(Emphasis on all the "shoulds" and "shouldn'ts" in there.)

6) The Trade Jerry Jones Turned Down Was For TE Bennett
The other day, Jerry Jones admitted that he turned down a major deal at the trade deadline, but didn't want to mention who is was, what it was for, or the other team that was involved. Now their are reports out that it was the Bengals who wanted to make a deal, and Martellus Bennett was the man they wanted.

The ESPN report says this is what "sources" told them, but that probably just means Calvin Watkins (who wrote the story) follow Martellus on Twitter because he's really the one who announced it to the world this morning.

Thank goodness Jerry didn't pull the trigger, I like Marty B. His numbers aren't flashy, but he is a big part of the reason are rushing numbers look so good. Besides, he doesn't get the ball thrown his way often anyway and its hard to get stats without getting the ball. Smart move by Jerry. Now if only he had this will power last year when he was offered that bullshit Roy Williams trade.

Thursday Billboard Update - 9/24/09

BP3
Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 hangs on to his #1 spot with 297,913 copies sold in its 2nd week on shelves. He should be getting his platinum plaque in 2 weeks. Whitney's comeback album I Look To You bounces back to #2 this week and also goes gold with 155,600 in its 3rd week. KiD CuDi's debut album Man On The Moon shits on my prediction and sells 104,300 while coming in at #4. Drake's So Far Gone EP goes just over what I predicted and does 73,600 at #6. If he can do that with an EP filled with songs he gave out for free just months ago, imagine what Thank Me Later is gonna do. Right behind Drake is Lil Boosie at #7 as his Superbad sells 48,900. This is Boosie's first top 10 of his career.

A lot of action going on on the Hot 100 this week. Jay-Z and Drake dominate this week in a major way. Jay's Run This Town with Kanye West and Rihanna shows no signs of slowing down as it moves to a new high at #2. At #5 is Empire State Of Mind with Alicia Keys which sold 205,000 in digital downloads over the past week (shout out to Lil Mama lol). Drake makes his first dent with Forever featuring Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Eminem starting out at #8.

The Billboard 200 1-10
first week debuts in bold

1. Jay-Z - Blueprint 3 (1-1)
2. Whitney Houston - I Look To You (3-2)
3. Muse - The Resistance (3)

10. Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (7-10)

  • The New Boyz's debut Skinny Jeanz & A Mic (which I didn't even know came out) comes in at #56 with a pathetic 9,800 records sold. Its a wrap for these niggas.
  • KRS-One and Buckshot's album dropped last today also and it opens up at #62 with 8,600 sold.
  • Q-Tip's Kamaal The Abstract (had no idea this existed) starts at #77 with 6,500 sold.
The Billboard Hot 100 1-10

2. Jay-Z - Run This Town (4-2)
3. Jay Sean - Down (2-3)
4. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me (6-4)
5. Jay-Z - Empire State Of Mind (50-5)
6. Miley Cyrus - Party In The U.S.A. (3-6)
7. Lady GaGa - Paparazzi (18-7)
8. Drake - Forever (8)
9. Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody (5-9)

  • Beyonce's Sweet Dreams is up 15 spots 33-18.
  • Drake has another new debut this week with I'm Going In featuring Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy at #40. I could've sworn this was Jeezy's song since it was on his Trappin' Ain't Dead mixtape but whatever.
  • Jay-Z's Young Forever debuted at #75 last week and then proceeded to soar 34 spots to #41 this week.
  • Leona Lewis is back on the charts this week as Happy debuts at #50.
  • KiD CuDi joins the action at #59 with Pursuit Of Happiness (Nightmare).
  • LMFAO's La La La debuts at #61. That girl with the piercing in her chest from Real World Cancun is in the video if you didn't know.
  • New artist Ester Dean takes her track Drop It Low with Chris brown 31 spots north to #63 this week.
  • Mariah Carey's I Want To Know What Love Is comes in at #66. I wonder how Nick Cannon feels about this song??
  • The Black Eyed Peas' Meet Me Halfway debuts at #75.

This Week In Flops 9/15/09

This is just a few tracks from So Far Gone and one new one (Fear). I don't really believe in EPs, but I think Drake fans are ready to buy something he's selling, especially since we don't know if his LP will drop since its being handled by Cash Money. I'm gonna go waaaay high for an EP and say it does 40-65k. I'll probably be wrong, but fuck it.

I've heard good reviews from this album, but I'll be the judge of that... well whenever I stop listening to Blueprint 3 long enough to check it out. Anyway, I don't really know where his buzz is at this point so I'll give him 30-60k.

I don't know much about this album because I don't really fuck with Boosie's music (sorry, the nigga can't rap and I hate his voice, sue me), but I know he has a pretty decent sized fanbase so all hope isn't lost. I'm predicting 15-35k.

I guess Trick really decided to go with this shitty cover even after I called the Photoshop Police on him. If he was that desperate, I would've hooked him up with something for free.

Anyway, most people don't even know this is dropping. That includes people down here in South Florida too. They aren't playing any of his songs on the radio and I've seen no promotion whatsoever. I'd be surprised if this even cracked 10,000. I'll say 4-10k

The Return Of The Photoshop Police!

I haven't sent out the Photoshop Police since June 12, 2008! I think its time for me to bring them out of retirement!

Okay, so let start with Trick Daddy. Trick is no stranger to the Photoshop Police and if this shit above is really the cover to his new album and not a cruel internet joke, then I'm just at a loss for words. I mean look at this shit, it looks like Trick designed it himself. Some people might think the layout on my website is wack BUT I designed the whole thing myself. I have no money to pay somebody to do it for me. Now I don't know Trick's finances but I'm almost positive he can afford to get someone with some kinda skills to make something better than this shit. Its just so bad! From the wack font, to the wack font color, to the Outer Glow in the standard "ffffbe" yellow setting, to Trick's face, to the horrendous Pattern Overlay used on Trick's face. So bad, just soooo bad!

Matter of fact, fuck this, this CANNOT be Trick's real album cover. It just can't be. No respectable label or artist is gonna let some shit like this be in stores anywhere! Lets move on.

The cover of Lil Wayne's Rebirth album cover?? I doubt it! Somebody already put this shit up on Rebirth's Wikipedia page, but I say there's about a 0.1% chance this is the actual cover. I think there's a better chance that that's really Trick's cover than this actually being Wayne's cover. Some fan made this. They HAD to! There's nothing wrong with the picture, but that terrible font work had to be done by an amateur. I like the "el&font gohtic!" font, but it looks like they tried to emboss it for some reason and then used waaaay to too much size in the Stroke Blending Option. I was actually able to re-create it in under a minute (click here to check it out). Its bad when a regular person can re-create your album cover, but its even worse if they can do it in under a minute.

And wassup with the blood-like streaks coming from Lil Wayne's name?? Very weak. The fan who made this obviously had no love for their boy. I expect the REAL cover to be out soon enouh because this album is still on schedule for release August 18th.

Trick Daddy – Why They Jock (feat. Ice Berg & Murk Camp)

This is supposed to be Trick's first single from his upcoming release Finally Famous: Born A Thug, Still A Thug which is due September 15th.

Again, they say this is supposed to be the first single, but I pray it isn't. I mean, its a decent sound, but its FAR from first single material. This is like 4th or 5th single shit if your album does really well. I wasn't really feeling the hook or the beat, but the verses were nice. I say he should clean up This The Shit That I Live and drop that as the first single because that track is a BEAST!

Hell, maybe its because I was just listening to Book Of Thugs yesterday is the reason I don't like this one much. That album was just so classic and this song could've have made that album. Period.

Trick Daddy - This The Shit That I Live

Trick is back!

Damn, Trick is back on his shit right now! I love this track! This has to be an old track man, I don't know if '09 Trick is capable of giving of this old thug shit like he used to in the late-90s, early 2000s. If he can then I already can't fuckin' wait for this Finally Famous album. ::crosses fingers::

Trick Daddy Calls Rick Ross His "Kid"

DR is truly a sad case. This nigga just stay catching L's. At the end of the day Ross doesn't want it with Trick because no matter what you think or saw, Trick Daddy has A LOT more pull in South Florida than Ricky. DR can say he's a boss, but when it comes down to Ross vs. Trick, SoFlo is always gonna side with Trick. Trick is just that nigga down here and that's the end of it.

Rick Ross - In Cold Blood Video

Bravo! Bravo!! Mark this down as the sole effective move Rick Ross has made in this whole battle! I mean at the end of the day its still like dunking on somebody with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter when your team is down by 40. Yeah its exciting to see, but the game is still over lol.

Since we're on the subject of Rick Ross and beef, click here to check out what Trick Daddy thought of being mention in the track before this one on the album, Valley Of Death.

And finally, since Deeper Than Rap is dropping today I figured I'd post what will likely be his last freestyle for awhile.

Rick Ross - Na Na Nana Na Na Freestyle

Nigga mentioned Eminem's name again. He's just begging to get Benzino'd lol.

Rick Ross - Valley Of Death

If for some reason you haven't heard by now, Deeper Than Rap has leaked and he's the full version of Valley Of Death where DR lightly touches on 50 Cent, Trick Daddy, and his correctional officer past.

Rick Ross - Valley Of Death

This doesn't forgive him for denying it for damn near a whole year. And even though he did kinda half way admit he was one in the 3rd verse, he also somewhat denied it at the same time by saying, "Call ya boy a C.O., but if I really was, when all these niggas undercover fuckin' niggas up. Keep it Trilla, nigga never had a gun and badge." I told y'all this nigga is delusional lol.

Anyway, even more explosive than this is during the 2nd verse where Ross goes at Trick Daddy a lil bit. He talks about somebody named Teddy catching a case and writing him a letter about Trick when he rhymed, "Very first line he called Trick Diddy stupid. Say he got AIDS, telling people that its Lupus." I wanna say "Teddy" is Ted Lucas, but I don't remember hearing about him catching a case?? Oh well I guess we'll find out later.

Trick Daddy Reveals He Has Lupus

If Lupus sounds familiar to you, its probably because that's what J. Dilla died from back in '06. I'm not saying Trick is about to die or anything, but its definitely a scary thing.

I knew something was going on with his skin though because I remember seeing a pic of him last year and he looked damn near like a different person. I always got love for Trick though, so good luck to him dealing with this shit.

50 Reading Rick Ross' Financial Affidavit Live On Ed Lover

Ed Lover
Another L for Ross. I think the L count is at like 8 lol.

(You can really skip through the first 2 because its really the same ol', same ol'.)

Damn. I don't even know what to say. I'm actually not that surprised that Ross is only worse about a million dollars or anything, but the fact that 50 is really destroying this man's life is mind-blowing. (Note to rappers: Don't beef with somebody that's smarter than you or this is how it'll go).

Anyway, did you hear the part where Fif was talking about bringing both Jacki-O and Trick Daddy to G-Unit?? That would be crazy and if Trick does go I guess that puts the report of him going to Cash Money to bed. I think it'd be a good look for everybody, especially Jacki. One person it won't help is Rick Ross though lol.

Ace Hood - Gutta/Final Warning/Face Good

I'm not sure why they pushed his album back to October 14th (ain't like he's gonna do huge numbers either way), but here's a few new tracks from the boy.

Ace Hood Feat. Trick Daddy - Gutta

This shit right here is a BEAST! This is the best track I've heard from this man by FAR! I love his flow and delivery on here and this beat is a problem! I believe Goldrush produced it, but I'm not positive. It actually sounds more like Cool-N-Dre to me, but you never know since they did fall off.

DJ Khaled Feat. Ace Hood, Bun-B, Blood Raw, Brisco, Bali, Lil Scrappy, & Shawty Lo - Final Warning

I dunno if this is on Gutta or We Global (I'm leaning towards We Global), but either way Ace didn't really show up even though he was the feature artist. Brisco outshined everybody anyway because he RIPPED this shit. He kinda had a Pac flow going on but didn't sound like he was dick riding...a very thin line to walk and he did it up. Shawty Lo & Blood Raw were just terrible and their vocals definitely should've been deleted lol.

Ace Hood Feat. Flo Rida - Face Good

Not impressed.

Finally after 2, 3 months and like 1000 behind the scenes videos the Out Here Grindin' video is here! Now, I like Khaled and all BUT this was NOT worth the wait lol. Check it out and see if you agree:

Agree, disagree??

I dunno I was expecting more, this shit looked cheap as hell and extremely cheesy. I really don't see what took them so long to edit I mean the only good part was Trick's. Speaking of Trick, I thought Plies wasn't in this video and Young Jeezy took his place?? Instead we got Plies, no Jeezy, and no Wayne lol. Plies Talks Usher Remix; I Talk Plies

I didn't know there was supposed to be a remix of Love In This Club with Mariah and Plies! Hmm, I guess you learn something new everyday. Anyway, check out ya "lil wo'" Plies talking about why they ended up going with the Beyonce and Wayne version.

We need more dudes in the industry like Plies! Not musically, but mentally because that is the BEST attitude to have and will get you the furtherest. Click here to read more the interview and see what he had to say about working with Ne-Yo.

Anyway, I just listened to Plies' new album The Definition Of Real (which drops this Tuesday) and I must say that is the most ig'nant album like... of ever lol. That's speaking from an average level-headed person's perspective, from a street nigga's perspective this shit is simply real. You know what though?? I can see from both of those perspectives because of my life and the people I've surrounded myself with and this album might be so ignorant that its actually ingenious. No, not classic, but possibly ingenious...seriously lol.

Listening to Plies album is like being in the hood all day and just talking to niggas about random shit because his ability to accurately portray all those thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a 58 minute and 42 second disc is actually pretty remarkable. I don't know how real he is or isn't, I've never met the man, but I do know everything he says and the way he says it connects DIRECTLY with people from the hood. Its crazy! And I don't think there has ever been an artist who's able to do that to the extent that Plies has been able to. Trick Daddy had that same shit back in the late 90's and early 2000's, but I think Plies takes it just a little bit further. Not saying that Plies is a better rapper than Trick (because he's not), or that one is more street/hood than the other, but in every word in every line Plies brings that street nigga to life and captures him to a T.

Maybe I just feel this way because his album is the freshest in my mind and I'd change once I took another listen to www.thug.com or Book Of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47. Who knows. I mean maybe he and Trick are equal in this regard, maybe they aren't, but that's just how I feel at this moment in time.

Oh, and when a say "street nigga" I'm talking about as in people I grew up around or just niggas from the South. I'm sure street niggas are different in New York and Cali, but I'm just talking in terms of the South and street shit I know.

Damn, that was alot! I felt like I had to tell somebody about the ignorance of what I was listening to, but when I texted my homegirl (I won't say her name lol) she seemed uninterested (as usual, good thing I got unlimited texts lol. Have you ever had someone you like/love in real life, but in text or on the phone its always just awkward?? Well, that's our relationship in a nutshell lol) so I had to write something here letting y'all know instead and kinda just went off for awhile lol.
