Dwight Howard Finally Traded To Lakers In 4-Team Deal
This 4-teamer breaks down like this: the Lakers obviously get Dwight Howard and also Chris Duhan and Earl Clark, the Sixers get Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson, the Nuggets get Andre Iguodala, and the Magic get... Aaron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless, and first-round picks from all 3 teams (you know, because anytime you can get the first round picks of playoff teams, you've got to do it).
Good Lord, Orlando's new GM (Rob Hennigan) is just as bad as their old one (Otis Smith); there's no way this was the best deal they could get for Dwight Howard. Brooklyn's last offer in July was at least 30% better than this.
Seriously, why in the fuck you would make this trade if you're Orlando? For the other 3 teams it makes perfect sense, but for Orlando? None. Think about it, they brought the most to the most to the table and left with the least. For Orlando, this trade is the equivalent of bringing all the alcohol to a party and ending up being the only dude with a dry dick at the end of the night. Yeah, you helped out your buddies get some action, but at the end of the day you're still going home to angrily beat off. Oh, and you're broke. Orlando would've been better off drinking all the booze at home until they were eventually gone like Howard would've been next summer. You'd still be a loser, but at least you don't have blue balls.
As for the Lakers and they're fans, calm the hell down. Yes, you just got the best center in the game, but unless Orlando is throwing in a pair of new knees for Kobe and a new back for Steve Nash, they're not winning shit. Besides, why would Bynum want to sign a long term extension to stay in L.A.? Yeah, it's L.A. and not Orlando, but you're still going home in the first or second round of the playoffs every year until Kobe retires, in which case you'll definitely never make it out of the first round. (Side note: This isn't the cue for Mavericks fans to get excited because why would Dwight take less money to play with 35 year-old Dirk? Exactly.)
Was the trade worth it for the Lakers? Yes, Andrew Bynum's best season (18.7 points per game on 56% shooting, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 2011-12) still wasn't better than Dwight Howard's half-assed "I don't want to be here" season (20.6 ppg on 57% shooting, 14.5 rpg, and 2.1 bpg in 2011), BUT you're still not winning anything because Kobe is no longer Kobe.
In my opinion, the big winning in this deal is Philly. They finally got rid of Andre Iguodala and brought in a real center (sorry Kwame, but there's always handball) for about the same money (Iggy is making $14.7 million in 2012, Bynum is making $14.9 million) and a veteran scorer. Obviously this all goes to hell if Bynum doesn't sign an extension and/or his knee fail him again (he's only played all 82 games once in 7 seasons), but it's worth the risk because they were going nowhere fast with Iggy as their best player.
Last thing, what would piss off/anger Lakers fans most: Dwight leaving next summer, Dwight never being the same again after his back surgery, or David Stern vetoing this trade for "basketball reasons" tomorrow morning? I've got my money on the Stern veto.

Random News Shit: NBA Free Agency Pre-Today Edition
1) Deron Williams Decides To Stay With The Nets
You mean to tell me Deron didn't decide to take $25 million less to play for his hometown team? I'm shocked! Of course a large part of his decision had to do with...
2) Hawks Trade Joe Johnson To The Nets
I never thought I'd see the day the Hawks were able to unload Joe Johnson's atrocious contract, but it really happened. Every Hawks fan in Atlanta should be offering Danny Ferry blowjobs from their wives and/or girlfriends. (Then again knowing Atlanta, I guess should've thrown "boyfriends" in there too.)
Anyway, the trade sends Jordan Farmar, Johan Petro, Anthony Morrow, DeShawn Stevenson, and a 2013 first-round pick (Houston's pick) for Joe Johnson. I hope DeShawn Stevenson's ATM is portable because I'm sure it'll come in handy at the many strip clubs in the ATL.
3) Steve Nash Headed To Lakers In Sign-and-Trade
This move would've been awesome if it was made 5 years ago. The Lakers should be better with Nash, but they still won't be able to beat the Thunder. It'll be interesting seeing Kobe playing with an All-Star point guard for once though.
4) Ray Allen Takes His Talents To South Beach
Honestly, I didn't think this was going to happen, but I'm happy it did, especially if Mike Miller is planning on retiring. I don't know how Pat Riley does it, but I'm glad he does.
And as for everyone saying Ray Allen is a traitor for leaving Boston, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Ray was already in his 30's when he arrived in Boston, Danny Ainge tried to trade him several times, Doc Rivers gave his starting spot to Avery Bradley, the Celtics signed Jason Terry before he made his decision, and he apparently doesn't get along with Rajon Rondo. Loyalty my ass!
5) Jeremy Lin Signs 4-Year Offer Sheet With Rockets
The offer sheet is worth $28.8 million, so whether the Knicks match it (which they will) or not, if millions were games, Lin would be making $2.8 million more than games he's started.
(Yeah, I know that was a long way to go for that.)
6) Lamar Odom Traded To Clippers
Lamar says he only wants to play on the beach and now he's back in L.A., good for him. Sucks for Mo Williams though, he goes from living in L.A. to living in Utah. Oh well, at least he's getting paid.
7) Eric Gordon Signs $58 Million Offer Sheet With Suns
Sadly for Eric, looks like New Orleans is gonna make it and he's gonna be forced to play with Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers instead of Jared Dudley and Hakim Warrick. Wait, what?
Speaking of the Suns...
8) Goran Dragic Returns To Phoenix For $34 Million
I'm not sure why they let him go in the first play, but he was the logical choice to run the show post-Nash.
Also...
9) Suns Sign Michael Beasley For $18 Million
Imagine how different the complexion of the league would be if the Bulls had taken Michael Beasley #1 instead of Derrick Rose? Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose are tearing it up in South Beach, LeBron James and Chris Bosh are playing elsewhere, and Michael Beasley... well, he's still a bust.
10) Nets Re-sign Gerald Wallace
They better had because it would be completely tragic if they traded away the 6th pick in the draft for a guy who bolted after half a season.
11) The Wolves Sign Brandon Roy
Brandon Roy finally gets to play for the team that originally drafted him (and stupidly traded his rights to Portland for Randy Foye on draft day). Hope it works out.
12) Jason Terry Signs With The Celtics
Too bad Celtics fans hate traitors so much and all.
Speaking of former Mavericks...
13) Jason Kidd Signs With Knicks
Damn, does anybody besides Dirk Nowitzki still play for the Mavs? Giving up on the 2011 season to try to get Deron Williams and Dwight Howard this summer is going terribly. Maybe Mark Cuban should quit Shark Tank for a bit and tend to his team.
14) 76ers Release Elton Brand
Damn, I didn't see this coming. If Brand was willing to take the veteran minimum, he's just undersized enough to get signed by the Heat. I'm sure one of the smart teams like the Spurs or Thunder will land him though.
15) Hawks Trade Marvin Williams To Jazz For Devin Harris
How is Danny Ferry doing this?! He just got rid of garbage ass Marvin Williams in exchange of Devin Harris (who had a sneaky good season last year)?? Ferry is well on his way to winning Executive of the Year in my books.
16) Jameer Nelson Re-signs With Magic
Good for him, maybe he can be the new Darrell Armstrong and lead the Magic to just missing the playoffs after they lose their franchise center again.
17) Magic Trade Ryan Anderson To Hornets
I'm not sure what the hell the Magic are doing, but good trade by the Hornets.
18) Marcus Camby Signs With Knicks
I wanted Camby to come down to Miami, but when he signed with the Knicks, I remembered he already played with the Knicks so grew up hating him. Now I hate him again. I mean, we could've used his rebounding, but fuck him.
19) Kirk Hinrich Rejoins Bulls
A lot of players returning back to former teams this year. Weird.
20) Clippers Sign Jamal Crawford
Wait, didn't Crawford just sign a 2-year deal with the Trail Blazers just last year? Yes, yes, I believe he did.
21) Pacers Re-Sign George Hill
Good move by the Pacers, as long as the money is reasonable.
22) Rockets Sign Omer Asik
An $8 million per year deal for a back-up center in a league who hasn't had a dominate center lead a year to a title in 5 years? I guess.
23) Raptors Sign Landry Fields
Hold up, maybe I'm reading this wrong, the Raptors gave Landry Fields $20 million dollars?? And they wonder why Steve Nash didn't want to sign there.

Steve Nash Latest Nicki Minaj Lap Dance Recipient
Nicki Minaj has been giving out "lap dances" like a young faded up Janet Jackson on tour this year and this time Steve Nash is the lucky guy. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Nicki is fine and all, but I don't want a lap dance from nobody with a hightop fade.

NBA All-Star Reserves Announced; Kevin Love Snubbed
Well, here's who did make the All-Star teams: On the East there's Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Joe Johnson, Al Horford, and Chris Bosh. Out West there's Russell Westbrook, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Deron Williams, Manu Ginobili, Blake Griffin, and Tim Duncan.
Seriously though, Tim Duncan?? Like Chris Webber said last week, this isn't a lifetime achievement award, it's the All-Star game. If we're gonna throw Tim Duncan on the squad, why not put Steve Nash on over Russell Westbrook or Deron Williams?
But even if you're gonna give Timmy a lifetime achievement award, why is Blake Griffin on the team over Kevin Love?? Don't get me wrong, Blake is having a wonderful rookie season, but if he couldn't dunk, would he still make this team over Love? I don't think so. Again, I don't want to take anything away from Blake, I actually think both he and Love should've made the team, but if it came down to the 2, you've got to take Big Love.
Hopefully David Stern will do the right thing and choose Love to replace Yao Ming on the team, but Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski was told Steve Nash is a "strong favorite" for that spot. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Kevin Love wasn't the only snub though, here's a list of some of the bigger snubs: LaMarcus Aldridge (21.3 ppg, 9 rpg), Monta Ellis (25.1 ppg, 5.6 apg, 2.3 spg), Eric Gordon (24.1 ppg, 4.5 apg), Kevin Martin (23.1 ppg, 41% from 3), Zach Randolph (20 ppg, 13.2 rpg), Lamar Odom (15.4 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 57% from the field), Raymond Felton (17.1 ppg, 8.9 apg), Andrea Bargnani (20.9 ppg, 5.5 apg), and Luis Scola (19.3 ppg, 8.5 rpg).

The Worst Foul Ever
This atrocious call is from Monday night's game 5. Isn't this shit just sad?? I mean, come on Joey Crawford! And its not like Crawford is out there alone, I wanna know what were the other officials were doing when this travesty occurred??
You wanna know what I REALLY wanna know, though?? What the hell punk ass David Stern is going to do about it?? Everyday we're hearing about a new player or coach being fined $35,000 for "criticizing officials" for their shitty calls, and then this happens. Is Crawford going to be fined?? I doubt it. This is just shameful, the NBA hands the worst officiating of any professional sports, hand down!

NBA All-Star Starters; Hatin' On Iverson
LeBron James F Carmelo Anthony
Dwyane Wade G Kobe Bryant
Allen Iverson G Steve Nash
Why is everybody so tight about Allen Iverson not only making the All-Star team, but making it as a starter?? Yeah his stats aren't there this year, but he's Allen Iverson! Its a game for the fans and fans like Allen Iverson. Deal with it. Seriously, its a fuckin' exhibition game, it doesn't count for anything, let the fans see who they wanna see without all the bitching. The fans are the ones who pay the ridiculous prices to support these players and teams, they can't AT LEAST see who they want in the All-Star game?? Again, its an exhibition game, it doesn't count.
Besides, why is everyone singling out A.I.?? I don't hear anyone complaining about Kevin Garnett (15 and 8) or Tim Duncan (20 and 10) starting. You telling me Chris Bosh (24 and 11), Antawn Jamison (22 and 8), and Gerald Wallace (19 and 11) aren't all having better seasons than K.G.?? Hell, even David Lee (19 and 11) is having a better season than Garnett.
And out on the West, you telling me you can't make a argument that guys like Kevin Durant (29 and 7), Dirk Nowitzki (26 and 8), and Zach Randolph (21 and 12) should be starting over Timmy?? All of these guys are having better seasons than the person starting over them, but still, Iverson is the one everyone is up in arms about. Of course we all know why though, because K.G. and Timmy are seen as "good guys" and A.I. isn't. Bottom line. Its sad that its come to that, but it has. Sad.
