Thursday Billboard Update - 3/11/10

Lady Antebellum
There's a new #1 this week, but its a familiar face as Lady Antebellum's Need You Now returns to the top of the ranks with 125,600 sold over the past week. Sade's Soldier Of Love is down to #2 with 79,200 sold. And debuting at #9 is Raheem DeVaughn's The Love & War MasterPeace with 45,200 sold.

Making a huge splash on the Hot 100 is Taio Cruz whose Break Your Heart record featuring Ludacris zooms from #53 to #1. I haven't even heard of the song, let alone heard it, but it better be damn good lol. The odd man out is Trey Songz's Say Aah which exits the top 10 after 2 weeks.

  • Also making its debut this week is Pleasure P's new single Under at #87.
  • R. Kelly's Number One featuring Keri Hilson comes in at #96 this week. Kellz will be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight so I'm interested to see how that's gonna go.
  • Wale's single Chillin with Lady GaGa FINALLY debuts on the Hot 100! Its only at #99 though and about 5-6 month after it came out. Maybe BET should've held off on the "Rising Icon" tag for it lol. Not saying he can't be one one day, but lets wait until you get a hit and drop an album first.

This Week In Flops 5/5/09

http://i42.tinypic.com/2rh1jl4.jpg
My baby Ciara is back as her new album Fantasy Ride finally hits stores. Even though I knew it was coming out on this date for awhile, it still kinda feels like a surprise. Her label really did a poor job promoting this album. Now, in defense of the label, I heard this album sounds exactly like her first two and shows little to no growth so maybe that's why they didn't make a honest attempt to sell it to us. Anyway, she is Ciara so she's good for at least 100,000 so I'm gonna go with 105-130k. And guess what Rick Ross?? She's gonna have the #1 album! Not because she did crazy numbers, but because she came out in a week where she'd have no competition lol. "Get 'em CiCi!"

http://i43.tinypic.com/sno1h0.jpg
For starters I wanna say I'm NOT feelin' the haircut at all. I don't want my female to be rocking the same haircut as Chad from the Alltel commercials lol. (BTW I don't think Ciara's "Dennis Hopper in the Super Mario Bros. movie" hair in her album cover is that appealing either lol.) Anyway, you wouldn't expect Chrisette's album to do well seeing she got even less of those Def Jam marketing dollars than Jadakiss, but I have a good feeling about thus album. I'm gonna go 45-75k for Epiphany.

I hope this shit flops just because of the corniness of the album title. Scale-A-Ton?? That's the best you could come up with?? Sounds like something Rick Ross would say lol. You know its a bad play on words when you have to put the real word in brackets underneath it despite the picture depicting a half skeleton, half DJ Paul face lol. Oh, and what's up with the Kenyon Martin-esque lipstick kiss on the neck?? Fuckin' weird. Let me leave DJ Paul aone, 1-5k

75. Lil Kim Feat. Lil Cease & Notorious B.I.G. - Crush On You
74. Black Sheep - The Choice Is Yours
73. EPMD - You Gots To Chill

This Week In Flops 6/24/08

Yeah I know its not the 24th BUT last Tuesday I was in a car accident so my mind wasn't really on TWIF lol. Its all good though I just remembered and now lets make it do what it do. BTW I didn't know any of these albums even came out last week lol.

I knew they had on a song out, but dropping an album?? Had no idea! lol. If they were gonna just drop an album outta no where they should've did it last year when Dope Boy Fresh was out, their show was still on TV, and they still had a lil' steam off that Oscar win. Oh well, don't expect big numbers Three 6 fans, I got it doing no more than 30k.

Speaking of Dwele, Kanye did this nigga so wrong! 'Ye did 3 videos for Flashing Lights and didn't feature my man in any of them. Sucks for him lol. Anyway, I don't know where this album is coming from or anything about it BUT neo-soul usually has a sturdy fanbase so I'll give him 10k-20k.

RZA's Digi Snacks...another album I had no idea was coming out. I know nothing about this record so I'm assuming you don't either which is why this record will have a hard time making it over 10k first week. Besides, who wants to buy an album called Digi Snacks??? Hilarious!

These niggas still livin'?? Well apparently so and it looks like they're dropping another album! Great! lol. I won't waste much time with this because you and I both know its gonna struggle to move even 1,000 units and won't show up on the charts at all lol.
