Tiger Woods Finally Wins A Tournament

November 15, 2009. That is the date of the last golf tournament Tiger Woods won before winning the Chevron World Challenge today. And it's about damn time too, I was getting tired of seeing Tiger start off tournaments great and then fade over the weekend, it was so unTiger-like.

Hopefully this win will catapult Tiger to a great 2012 season, but I still have my doubts. Simply put, Nice Tiger just isn't as good as Super Competitive Fucking Bitches Tiger.

Tiger & Elin Officially Divorced

Golfer Tiger Woods gets a kiss from his wife Elin after losing his match at the Presidents Cup golf tournament in Gainesville, Virginia, in this September 22, 2005 file photo. The world's No. 1 golfer, Woods and his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren have divorced following the sex scandal that embroiled Woods late last year, a statement from their lawyers said on August 23, 2010.
Uh-oh world, hide your white women, the Tiger is back on the prowl!

Seriously though, is it just me, or did this seem to happen really fast?? I could be wrong, but wasn't Tiger just in rehab and trying to work things out in like February or March?? Oh well, you can't blame Elin, she's about her paper more than a lot these lying ass rappers.

I posed this question yesterday or Twitter, but when Elin found out Tiger was cheating, did she try tears of joy or tears of sorrow?? I say tears of joy because, honestly, what could she have done in her life to ever heard $100+ million besides having Tiger's babies and then divorcing him??

(Side note: Somebody should be trying to get that Rick Ross Tears Of Joy beat and make an Elin parody. That'd be hilarious! You're welcome in advance.)

Well anyway, good for Tiger. Now he can put this chapter in his life behind him and move on. It'll be interesting to see if golf will ever mean as much to him as it once did now. Hopefully it will and he'll get back to winning in 2011.

Phil Mickelson Wins 3rd Green Jacket

AUGUSTA, GA - APRIL 11: (L-R) Angel Cabrera of Argentina presents Phil Mickelson with the green jacket during the green jacket presentation after the final round of the 2010 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club on April 11, 2010 in Augusta, Georgia.
I don't even know what to say. Tiger really gave this one away with waaaay too many unforced errors. Five bogeys in 1 day for Tiger Woods?? I mean, I figured he wasn't gonna win anyway, but he actually had a legitimate shot going into the last round today. He was just too up and down.

On second thought, Lefty won it out right. He played great and deserved to win. Besides, its hard to feel mad that he won, the man's wife AND mother got breast cancer in the SAME year! That's much harder to come back from than anything Tiger is dealing with.

Oh well, I got a feeling we won't be seeing Tiger until June at the U.S. Open.

Nike Releases New Tiger Woods Commercial

When I first saw this commercial I thought it was weird and kinda creepy, then I learned the voice used was that of Tiger's deceased dad Earl Woods and I thought it was weird and extremely creepy. I mean, seriously though, what the fuck?? And here's the really crazy part, if he did this commercial at any point before Thanksgiving '09, it would've been totally cool. Funny how these things work.

Anyway, I'm so ready for the Masters tomorrow! I don't really think he's gonna win, but I'm gonna watch feverishly over the next 4 days anyway. I bought Hot Shots Golf 2 weeks ago and have been playing non-stop ever since to prepare myself. I'm amp'd!

Random News Shit: Tiger Woods Edition

Tiger Woods
Before I tackle these stories, I want to tell everybody to read Jason Whitlock's column on Tiger Woods. I read it last week and I must say, it is an exceptional piece of work, or as some would say, the truth!

1) Tiger Woods Voted AP Athlete Of The Decade
And you know what?? Its not even really close. Tiger dominated his sport for the entire decade. To me, Roger Federer would be #2 over Lance Armstrong because Lance didn't even compete for the entirety of the decade. Well anyway, congrats to Tiger.

2) Doctor Arrested For PEDs Linked To Tiger Woods
Okay, lets stop it! This is complete bullshit and everybody knows it. They know good and damn well Tiger was not juicing and this "link" is faulty at best. Tommy Craggs of Deadspin really breaks in down in this column, you should really check it out.

Besides that, what would be the benefit of Tiger taking PEDs?? The man plays golf, golf is a really a game of putting, and putting is a skill, not something you can develop chemically. The media is just trying to pile on Tiger at this point.

3) Nike, Tag Heuer continue sponsorship with Tiger Woods
And really, why wouldn't they?? Tiger will be fine and if they drop him now, they'll just be running to pick him back up as soon as he wins his next major. Tiger didn't commit a crime and he isn't a political figure running on a platform of family values, he'll be fine.

4) Elin Allegedly Divorcing Tiger
People can make jokes about Tiger being dumb for doing what he did, but he was smart enough to get Elin to sign a prenup. She's still gonna get some money, but she sure as hell ain't getting half lol.

Random News Shit: Sports Recap 12/10-12/13

December 10th

Brian Kelly To Replace Charlie Weis As Notre Dame Head Coach
Yet another reason to hate the NCAA. This is so fucked up! Dez Bryant can't go visit Deion Sanders, but Brian Kelly can interview for, and accept a job at another school during the season. I don't blame those kids at Cincinnati for being pissed, their leader is allowed to abandon them before the biggest game in school history (the Sugar Bowl against Florida). If a kid wants to trade schools, he has to sit out a season, a coach can just leave whenever they feel like it. Again, fucked up!

December 11th

Tiger Woods Leaves Golf Indefinitely
To be fair, Tiger probably wouldn't have played in any of these upcoming small touraments at the top of the year regardless. I say he comes back for the Masters in April. After all, we all know Tiger only cares about the majors.

December 12th

Kobe Bryant Fractures Bone In Right Index Finger
This seemed like a bigger deal back on the 12th when it happened. Definitely more so than it does now, 1 day after he hit 39 and a game-winner against the Bucks in Milwaukee.

Kansas Hires Gill Turner
Its about time the fucked up NCAA benefited a black man.

Penn State's Women Volleyball Team Wins 100th Straight
I'm not down with the NCAA, but I love that women's volleyball! Those fine ass girls in those tiny ass shorts, its great. In fact, we need more women's volleyball on TV. I don't care if it broadcasts on Lifetime, I'd watch! This picture says it all.

...And don't even get me started on beach volleyball! My, my, my!

Mark Ingram Wins 75th Heisman Throphy
A lot of college sports shit late last week, maybe that's why I checked out mentally?? Whatever. Can you believe Ingram was the first player in Alabama history to win the Heisman?? I can't. I mean, of course I don't really care, but that's still pretty remarkable.

December 13th

Brandon Marshall Breaks T.O.'s NFL Record With 21 Catches
This guy is a BEAST! His 21 catches were obviously the most on his team (duh lol), but it was more than the Colts had as a team! The most amazing part of this story is that the Broncos lost. If I told you Brandon Marshall was gonna explode for 21 catches and 200 yards, you would've told me the Colts would suffer their first loss of the season. But they didn't. That says a lot about the Colts.

DeMarcus Ware Carted Off With Neck Sprain
Ware seems to be just fine now and may play Saturday night so this is whatever now.

Let me just take a second to address Keyshia Cole:

Dear Keyshia Cole,

What the FUCK is going on?? Boobie Gibson?? I mean it could be worst, but damn, you could at least get a damn starter. Mo Williams wasn't available?? Come on baby, if you gonna cheat on me, at least do with somebody can't be mad at. I feel like you're disrespecting me getting pregnant by this nigga. Boobie Gibson??

You know what?? I'm not even mad, I'm disappointed. Disappointed you wasted those luscious titties on a nigga that don't get much PT. C'mon son!

Love, Fiyah

Random News Shit: SportsCenter On DVR Edition

Magazines featuring Tiger Woods are photographed Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, in New York. Woods said he let his family down with "transgressions" he regrets "with all of my heart," and that he will deal with his personal life behind closed doors, in a statement released Wednesday.
Sorry about the lack of content, I was really just being lazy. And not lazy as in I didn't wanna write anything, lazy as in I didn't really care about what was going on in the music industry. But I'm back. That's right, I'm BACK!

1) Tiger Woods Apologizes For 'Transgressions'
I've had awhile now to think about what I was gonna say about this matter, and you know what? I still don't know what to say. I mean is there anything to say?? A super rich, super famous guy cheated on his wife. And?? Shit happens everyday. If Hillary Clinton can get cheated on, that old nanny trick Tiger wifed can get cheated on too.

See, the real question isn't why did Tiger cheat, its why the hell did Tiger get married in the first damn place?? Ain't like homegirl was his high school sweetheart or been down with him when he didn't have nothing, she was essentially just some chick he met along the ride. And I don't know what's wrong with these famous people, but you don't settle down until you fall off. That's a rule! ...Okay, it isn't a rule, but dammit it should be.

This all doesn't matter though, Tiger will be fine. The only people truly upset and offended by this is women, and last time I checked, not many women watch golf or buy the products he endorses. As long as he still has his endorsements, which he does, Tiger has nothing to worry about.

(Side note: Can black women stop it with the whole super ignorant "that's what Tiger gets for getting a white girl" thing?? I mean come on, y'all asses can't POSSIBLY believe this is all a result of being with a white girl. If the domestic violence part is true, a black girl would've done the same (hell, probably even worse). If she hits him up for a shitload of cash, a black girl would too. This is not a black and white issue, its a male and female isn't. Ignorant black women, get over yourselves.)

2) Allen Iverson Signs Back With 76ers
Welp, that was fast. Iverson sure could show Brett Favre a thing or two about retiring and unretiring in a timely manner.

Anyway, we all knew the retirement last week wasn't final, so this should shock no one. Like I said last week, A.I. was simply looking for attention and sympathy so he picked his ball up and went home...and now he's back. Hopefully Andre Iguodala doesn't catch any feelings about not being the only A.I. in Philly again.

(Side note: How ironic is it that Iverson's first 2 games back with the Sixers are gonna be against Denver and Detroit?? Its funny how these things work sometimes.)

3) Ron Artest Admits To Drinking Alcohol At Halftime
That alcohol was Hennessy, to be exact. Ron has since clarified his statements, but that doesn't make this story any less funny. Drinking Henny at halftime, that's crazy! Totally shits on those reports that Gilbert Arenas used to play online poker at the half a few years ago.

You know what's even crazier?? I heard somebody reading off his first and second half stats from back then, and there was no real drop off in production. I guess he can't blame it on the alcohol after all.

4) Nets Go 0-18, Set Mark For Worst Start In NBA History
Is that new Russian owner guy just bad luck, or what?? Just terrible.

Tiger Woods Becomes First Billion Dollar Athlete

ATLANTA - SEPTEMBER 23: Tiger Woods hits a shot as his caddie Steve Williams look on during a practice round prior to the start of THE TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club on September 23, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Forbes.com, with Tiger's FedEx Cup title Sunday he becomes the first athlete to earn a billion dollars in his or her career. BAAALLLIINNN! Take it away Forbes:

Forbes has been tracking athlete earnings since before Tiger turned pro. Woods had earned a cumulative $895 million going into 2009, by our estimates, from prize money, appearance fees, endorsements, bonuses and his golf course design business. If you add his $10.5 million in 2009 prize money, the FedEx bonus and his take so far this year from his more than $100 million in annual off-the-course earnings, Woods' career earnings are now 10 figures. Via Forbes.com

This was really inevitable. I mean if it didn't happen Sunday, it was gonna happen some time shortly there after. But fuck all that, I just need to know where I have to go to sign up for golfing lessons! Niggas trying to beat trillion-to-one odds of becoming rappers and shit, while people like Tiger have made more in his career than most people's top 5 combined. Props to Mr. Woods.

Damn, I need to figure out how to get in good with his beautiful niece Cheyenne or something!

Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition

Serena Williams of the U.S. yells at a line judge after being called for a foot foul during her semi-final match against Kim Clijsters of Belgium at the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York, September 12, 2009. Clijsters won the match 6-4 7-5, which ended in controversy when Williams was called for a foot-fault on a second serve to go match point down.
1) Serena Ousted On Penalty
It was looking like Serena wasn't gonna win anyway, but man, what a way to go out. I love Serena but I'll keep it funky, she was in the wrong. Now do I believe she said she was gonna kill the damn lady, I seriously doubt it.

Don't get me wrong though, that was a shitty double fualt call by the line judge, but Serena should've used better judgment handling it.

2) Tiger Smokes His Competition; Fires Off 3rd Round 62
Its really a damn shame he could never put it together in the major like he did in some of these other tournaments. Tiger now sits at -16 while his closes competition is at -9. There's no way Tiger loses this tourney.

3) Case Closed
Welp, it looks like the Merriman v. Tequila case is closed as the district attorney has decided to dismiss it citing lack of evidence. I still think Tila was just reching for one last shot at being in the spotlight, but her "fame" is over just like MySpace's.

Idiocracy 101: The PGA Fines Tiger Woods

Tiger
After winning his 70th event Sunday, Tiger Woods criticized the PGA's time limit rule that forced Padraig Harrington to rush his last few shots. On Monday the PGA decided to fine Tiger.

Really PGA?? Memo to the PGA Tour: Tiger Woods IS the PGA Tour! Seriously, I hope these guys realize that if Tiger leaves the tour, that's it. That's the end, the PGA Tour will once again become irrelevant. Word to the wise, do whatever Tiger says seeing that he's the sole reason you're not struggling like the LPGA Tour.

Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition

Sweet 15
1) Federer Outlasts Roddick; Wins 15th Major
What a great match! ...Damn shame I had to leave for work DURING (what turned out to be) the beginning parts of the 5th set. What a 5th set it was too! The final scored ended up being 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14. The match passed the 3 hour mark by a mile!

Anyway, this is Roger Federer's 15th Grand Slam title and 6th win at Wimbledon. I really wanted Andy Roddick to win though. I didn't think he would push Federer this much, but is that an indictment on how good Roddick is or how human Federer has become??

2) McNair's Death Ruled A Homocide
Okay, so now we know Steve was shot 4 times (twice in the head, twice in the chest) and the woman found next to his was shot in the side of the head. I may be being naive, but sounds like she killed him and then killed herself.

Also, turns out that she was his girlfriend. The problem?? McNair was married with kids! Don't get me wrong, I still feel bad that he died, but its HARD to not lose a little respect for him for cheating on his wife in the first place. Even if you are seperated, you are still married. Period.

On another note, how bad do you feel for the wife?? Especially if you didn't know about the other woman. She must be torn up on the inside.

3) 'Sheed Commits To Celtics
I like this move! The Celtics are clearly trying to a one-year push at another title and I like the direction they're headed in.

I'm hearing the C's are also trying to lure Grant Hill away from the Suns to make the 90's Draft All-Star team complete lol.

4) Tiger Wins AT&T National
I hope Tiger's 2009 trend of winning the last tourament before the major championship doesn't continue with the British Open on the horizon in a couple of weeks on ABC.

5) Pujols Leads All-Star Game Voting
You can click the link to find out who else made the team, if you're interested. I never watch the game, but I can't wait for the Home Run Derby though.

Tiger Woods Battles Back To Win Memorial

U.S. golfer Tiger Woods celebrates with his caddie Steve Williams (L) on the 18th hole after his final round of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, June 7, 2009.
Tiger came from 4 strokes back (no homo) to take home the Memorial crown. This is especially incredible because on Friday Tiger fucked around and shot 74 and I thought it was over for him, but then again I guess its never truly over if you're Tiger Woods. I'm sure he'd much rather take home that U.S. Open trophy home again like he did last year, but this will do for now.

Welp, Today Is The Day, Tiger Is Back

Today at 2:02pm, Tiger Woods will make his come back official when he tees off in Match Play against Australian Brendan Jones. Be afraid, be very afraid!

Now, I don't believe Tiger when he says he feels better than ever, but I still think his presence alone will be enough to at least pysch some of his competition out. Match Play is a wild horse and is very unpredictable so I won't say him winning is a guarantee (though he is the defending champ), but I think he'll do well. Go Tiger!

GM Cuts Ties With Tiger

After 9 years GM has decided to end its endorsement of Tiger Woods. No, he didn't stab his white wife to death or rape anybody in Denver, but shit is fucked up and they need the money. They're trying to show Pres. Obama that they can cut costs so he can bail them out, but cutting costs didn't stop them from flying in a private jet to meet with Congress last week lol. Damn shame. Oh well, ain't like Tiger needs it right now lol.
