Jason Whitlock Podcast Coming Feb. 16th

Real Talk With Jason Whitlock
Click on the picture above, or click here to hear the audio promo.

"Real Talk With Jason Whitlock" kicks off Wednesday February 16th, and will run on FoxSports.com every Wednesday thereafter. Let's just hope Whitlock gets off the script and doesn't sound as monotone as he did on that promo on his podcast. I mean, my God, that was awful lol. If I didn't already know and respect Whitlock, there's no way I'd check his pod out after that stale ass shit. He sounded like he was imitation of me in my Hip-Hop Czar campaign commercial in Fuck Lil Wayne 3. You're in L.A. now J-Dubb, loosen up baby.

50 Cent - Old 2003 Ferrari

Here's what I don't understand, if 50 is capable of making this kinda music still, why doesn't he? Who would be opposed to 50 making music like he did before he blew up? Oh yeah, no one.

Well Fif better figure it out because making good shit like this is the only shot he has of remaining a major force in music still. I'm not saying he can't be around still, but no one will care if this upcoming album isn't on par with tracks like this.

Blake Griffin Highlight Starring Bill Simmons

I watched this dunked EARLY this morning on my phone and I thought that was Bill Simmons I saw in the crowd, but I wasn't positive until he tweeted about it earlier.

Great dunk by Blake, but even better reaction by Bill with the fist followed by the white guy overhead clap. In the words of Fabolous, "Niiiiicceeee!"

The Situation & Pauly D Do Promos For....Justin Bieber!

Of course Justin Bieber, I mean, who else?

Anyway, how creepy/insane does Pauly D look with his hair down in this video? I know that was kinda the point of the video, so in that sense he did a good job, but damn, this is the face of a true mad man:

Men Of Respect: James Harrison & Hines Ward

Out of everything I saw, and all the craziness that ensued, this James Harrison interview was the clear cut highlight of Media Day for me. That's why Harrison is one of my Men Of Respect today. The only thing that could've made that interview better is if he said "fuck Roger Goodell" at some point in it. That would've been so awesome! See, that's why I need to get rich, because I would love to pay that fine for Harrison. Goodell is a hypocrite and he's turning the NFL into a joke. Fuck him.

Now on to Hines Ward. Check out what he had to say to GQ on the topic of concussions:

Man, nobody paid attention to that video. We don't know what they want. They're so hypocritical sometimes.

They came out with these new helmets that are supposed to stop concussions. If they care so much about our safety, why don't they mandate that we wear the new ones? If they're so worried about what concussions will do to us after our careers, then guarantee our insurance for life. And if you're going to fine me for a hit, let the money go to veteran guys to help with their medical issues. To say the league really cares? They don't give a f*ck about concussions.

And now they want to add on two extra games? Are you kidding? Come on, let's be real. Now that these new guidelines are in place, you'll see more and more guys lying to doctors to stay on the field.

Contracts aren't guaranteed. If a guy's contract is coming up and he gets his bell rung-and if he has a concussion, he'll have to leave the game and maybe miss another one-trust me, he ain't tellin' nobody. Look at [49ers running back] Brian Westbrook. He was an elite player who had concussion issues, and he struggled to find work after the Eagles cut him. Guys saw that. I'm telling you, if you're a guy on the bubble or playing for your next contract, you're going out there and jeopardizing your life to get that payday. via "Inside The Helmet" from GQ.com

Thursday Billboard Update - 2/3/11

Amos Lee - Mission Bell
Hey Cake, you're off the hook. Amos Lee's Mission Bell has bested your album Showroom Of Compassion and is the new lowest selling #1 album in SoundScan history with 40,500 sold first week. Also debuting in the top 10 is Wisin Y Yandel's Los Vaqueros: El Regreso at #8 with 30,700 sold.

Some new blood is injected into the top 10 this week by P!nk and the Far*East Movement. P!nk's Fuckin' Perfect shoots to #2, up 9 spots from last week, and Far*East Movement's Rocketeer lands at #9 after previously sitting at #16.

Random News Shit: SportsCenter Edition

LOS ANGELES, CA - DECEMBER 01: Blake Griffin #32 of the Los Angeles Clippers reacts to his dunk in front of DeJuan Blair #45 and Tim Duncan #21 of the San Antonio Spurs at the Staples Center on December 1, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.
1) Rookie Challenge Line Ups Announced
This may come as some sort of surprise, but Blake Griffin made the team. I know, I know, let's all take a moment to pick up our eyes that fell from out collective heads.

Alright, so on the Rookie team you have Blake, John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Favors, Landry Fields, Wesley Johnson, Greg Monroe, and Gary Neal. On the Sophomore team you have former Rookie Of The Year Tyreke Evans, DeJuan Blair, Steph Curry, DeMar DeRozan, Taj Gibson, Jrue Holiday, Serge Ibaka, Brandon Jennings, and Wesley Matthews. If Brandon Jennings can't participate in the Dunk Contest, I doubt he's playing in this game, so does he get replaced, or do the other players just play more minutes?

On another All-Star weekend note, everyone who follows Bill Simmons on Twitter learned earlier that he and Jimmy Kimmel would be the coaches in the All-Star Celeb Game. Participating in the game will be Magic Johnson (hopefully no one still scared to guard him), Scottie Pippen (hopefully their playing for a cash prize), A.C. Green (I heard he finally got his dick wet), Jalen Rose, Chris Mullin, B.J. Armstrong, Jason Alexander, Common, and of course Justin Bieber. I wonder if the Bieb is gonna wear one of those Sasha Vujacic hair net string band thingies that make him look like he's wearing a lace front wig? If not, he should.

No word yet on why the majority of players already committed formerly played in the NBA. And yes, I'm including Common in that.

2) Tom Brady Wins Offensive Player Of The Year
No surprise here (even thought Thomas couldn't crack 4,000 yards). I wish they would've just gave him the MVP today too. Why wait?

3) Stephen A. Smith Returns To ESPN
Damn, that was fast. I think DMX was out of jail for longer than Stephen A. was away from ESPN.

Welp, welcome back Stephen, I can't wait to see him back in Bristol battling Skip Bayless on 1st & 10.

4) Homeless Couple Win Trip To Super Bowl
Wow, 2011 has been an awesome year for homeless people. First Ted Williams gets a hair cut and a bazillion job offers, and now these homeless folks get an all expense trip to Super Bowl XLV. Hell, I need to stop paying these bills so I can hurry up and get my blessing.

Mystikal - Uh Oh (feat. Jazelle)

Mystikal
Da man right chea! I heard this shit Saturday, who knows why I just thought to post it today. I guess that's what happens when you're doing shit you're not supposed to at work. Okay, let's do this:

I knew greatness would come of this meeting with Mannie Fresh. This is one of those joints where it's safe to say it's just you if you don't like it. The track is fiyah, the lyrics are fiyah, the hook is fiyah, the whole record is just FIYAH!

Now, I'm not saying this is going to be a huge hit or anything, but if it became one, I certainly wouldn't be surprised. Well we'll see what's up when the full version is released. Oh, and I'm putting it out there now that I wanna hear Twista on the remix.

Lupe Fiasco - Words I Never Said (feat. Skylar Grey)

Words I Never Said
Okay, here's the new single off Lupe Fiasco's MUCH anticipated 3rd album, Lasers, due out March 8th. Oh, and here are the lyrics in case you want to follow the bouncing ball and read along.

Okay, there's 2 aspects of this song that need to be discussed, the musical aspect and the political aspect. Since this is FiyahMUZIK.com, I figured we'd start there.

This is a beautiful song. Alex Da Kid did work on this gorgeously hard beat (that is a tad loud), and Lupe worked his magic. If I had to give this song an overall letter grade, I'd give it a B.

Now on to the political. The big thing I got from the song was that Lupe said he didn't vote for President Obama because there was bombing on the Gaza strip and "Obama didn't say shit," and that he doesn't vote in general because he's "peaceful." So, let me get this straight, you don't vote in the United States presidential election because there's not peace in the Middle East? That's really the argument you're gonna go with?? I rather he just said, "I don't vote because I don't care enough."

News flash Lupe, there's never been peace there, and there never will be peace there. I know this may come as a surprise, but fighting and bombing and acting crazy is just what they do over there. And what do you really want, Lu? You say you don't agree with the war on terror, but you want Obama to do something about bombing on the Gaza Strip? Which is it, because it sounds like you're playing both sides of the fence.

Maybe I missed the point of the song. Maybe I didn't get a full understanding of what Lupe was trying to convey with my 2 and a half listens. Maybe I need to just read the lyrics in silence. Maybe. All I know is I don't agree when people come with the anti-American foolishness. These guys don't want us to go to war, but when something happens in the world they want us to react and do something about it. Well which is it? This country isn't perfect, but if you really didn't like it here and don't agree with what we do that much, you could leave. After all, it is a free country.

I'll take a few more listens after I get off work, so let's reconvene then and work out our differences.
