All-Star Starters Announced; Howard Sets New Record

Never in the history of fan voting for NBA All-Star games has one player surpassed 3 million votes. Not Jordan, not LeBron, not Shaq, not Yao. Well in 2009 Dwight Howard did just that finishing with a record 3,150,181 votes! That Superman shit last year did wonders lol. Before this year the most votes ever received was 2,558,278 by Yao in 2005. And not only did Dwight break Yao's record, but so did LeBron (2,940,823), Kobe (2,805,397), D-Wade (2,741,413), and Tim Duncan (2,578,168). I don't know if the NBA All-Star game is just more relevant than ever, but whatever the case you know David Stern is somewhere poppin' bottles lol.

Anyway, here are the starters:

East:
C - Dwight Howard
F - Kevin Garnett
F - LeBron James
G - Dwyane Wade
G - Allen Iverson

West:
C - Yao Ming
F - Tim Duncan
F - Amare Stoudamire
G - Kobe Bryant
G - Chris Paul

Zo Retires

After 15 seasons in the NBA, Miami Heat legend Alonzo Mourning has decided to retired today. This is sad to see as a fan of those late 90s Heat teams that boasted names like Zo, Hardaway, Mashburn, and Majerle. Man, that was a good ass team. Trust me as someone who watched a good portion of their games back then.

Anyway, now that Zo is retired the debate over whether he should go to the Hall Of Fame is now underway. As a basketball fan I give an emphatic YES. He is a 7-time All-Star and 2-time Defensive Player of the Year that played the game with the heart and passion few have ever. Unfortunately, he missed major time in his prime due to his kidney ailment, but I don't think that should be held against him as a negative. Right now he's #10 on the all-time blocks list, but just imagine where he'd be if he hadn't missed so much time following his 8th year in the league. He basically missed 3 whole seasons because of his kidney.

And on top of all that, he should have won MVP in the 98-99 strike shortened season. Zo averaged 20 points, 11 boards, and 4 blocks a game. Karl Malone won it that year averaging 23, 9, and .57 which were all down from the previous season.

Random News Shit: Dallas Cowboys Edition

1) Dallas Cowboy Idol??
From the mind of Michael Irvin comes a new American Idol inspired show about 12 doing competing for a chance to play for the Cowboys! I'd say about the last thing we need is another TV show, but that's if you're asking me. Then again, its just for a spot on the training camp roster so maybe it won't be so bad. Whatever the case this dude CAN'T make the team or that'll just be another media strik against us.

Anyway, if you're interested in this still untitled show its supposed to air on Spike in the spring.

2) Report: Romo say he'll be more active leader

I hope so because I mean it is his team and all. No more Mr. Nice Guy Tony, run the show. I do love his nonchalant attitude, but that shit is kinda toxic when it comes to professional sports....especially when you're a quarterback.

And of course this probably all stems from...

3) Aikman to Romo: Perception of you matters

In real life it doesn't, but as far as football and professional sports goes it definitely does. If he didn't know that he could've just asked Mr. Terrell Owens. Think about it: T.O. has never been arrested or been in trouble off the field, but let most people tell it, he's the worst thing that ever happened to the NFL lol. Anyway, Troy may have been just a tad late with this criticism. I think it would've served better after last season when the actual trip to Cabo happened.

Bow Wow On 1st & 10

I told y'all he was gonna be on their earlier, but here is the entire thing courtesy of the greatest thieves in the history of the internet, WorldStar! lol.

Skip went easy on him. I don't have a problem with that though because like Wayne, you can tell Bow doesn't really follow sports that closely (even though I would say Wayne has more sports knowledge). That isn't a knock against him either, he's a busy dude so I don't expect him to be completely up-to-date with all his sports lol. Anyway, I'm glad to see Rob Parker back! Thank goodness.

Lastly, I just wanted to say I COMPLETELY agree with all 3 of them when it comes to PETA. Especially Skip who said somebody needs to come up with a group that protects people from PETA lol. Fuckin' weirdos man.

Hurry Up Hov!; Em Almost Done

Okay so now we know Blueprint 3 has no time table. All that says to me is 'don't except it any time soon.' Very sad day for me lol.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent says Eminem album is almost done. I don't know if Em wanted 50 saying that to the public, but he said The Relapse is in the mixing stage so it should get a date soon. And I know its been 5 years since Encore, but I don't even think I'm that excited about the album anymore. Since that Crack A Bottle shit came out, my expectations have lowered drastically. Its just a sad day for me overall lol.

Nike Zoom LeBron VI - Taxi Cab

What do you think about these?? According to SneakerFiles, they're inspired by taxi cabs in the NYC. I don't know if that's really the case, but if it is, the Cavs better really watch out come the summer of 2010 because by my count this is LBJ's 4th New York inspired sneaker. We shall see...

Oh, and if you were wondering, no I wouldn't rock these lol.

Skip Bayless Vs...Bow Wow??

I don't know where I was when they announced this, but I just heard about 7 minutes ago that Bow Wow will be on First Take today to battle it out with Skip Bayless on 1st & 10. Is this more or less weird than Lil Wayne?? Then again, Bow used to love basketball. Remember when he wanted to be in the NBA?? Aww, the good ol' days lol. Oh, and definitely can't forget about that Madden game against The Game lol. Aight well I'll go check this out and let you know how he did.

Speaking of Bow Wow and sports, did you hear that he and Stephon Marbury teamed up to create a new apparel line under Marbury's Starbury brand??Weird combination, but I can never say anything bad about Starbury because unlike many others (Jordan, LeBron, etc.) the aim is to give reasonable prices for families that can't afford to buy $200 for a pair of fuckin' shoes.

  • One week after Akon's Beautiful moved 18 spots up 61-43, Keri Hilson takes the same path to the #43 spots with her latest attempt at a single featuring Lil Wayne, Turnin' Me On. Thank goodness because I was gonna say maybe she should hang it up as an artist lol. I still love you Keri!

Presidential Do-Over

As I came back to remind you yesterday, it was Roberts who fucked up the oath not Obama. Well none of that matters now because they re-did it today.

I'm glad they decided to do this over because as soon as it happened I knew some dumbass Republican would try to say he wasn't really the President because of it... and of course Faux News was right on it. Sad.

2009 NBA All-Star Jerseys

Here they are, are you impressed??

I like them both. They aren't super intricate or anything, but these are the first All-Star jerseys I can remember that both East and West look equally as good. They're always the same design, but some time one looks better because of the colors, but I think these are both pretty even to me. I can't even decide which one I'd want to buy if I had the option lol.

Anyway, the All-Star starters are to be announced tomorrow, but we already know 3 on the East are Dwight Howard, LeBron, and D-Wade, so we just have to wait and see about the other 2.

Saigon - Pushin' Buddens

The battle is now on! The battle is now on!

Saigon - Pushin' Buddens

Fuck! Saigon went IN on Joey! LMAO!! This kinda reminded me of LL Cool J's Ripper Strikes Back Diss to Canibus. Shit just goes hard.

Honestly, he had to rip this shit this hard because his first shit was so weak. I think we can go ahead and call round 2 for Saigon. I guess we're tied now, but Joe did win a weak round 1 while Saigon won a tough round 2. Well we'll have to see if there's a round 3 before we can name a victor, but I don't think Saigon can top this shit even if he did make another 1 (which he said he isn't).
