The Sad Aftermath Of The Auto-Tune Era
One of the many downsides of the Auto-Tune Era (2006-2010) is that there would eventually come a day when you'd have to sing your song live without it, and possibly sound even worse than the cheap effect made it sound in the first place.
Generally, this concern would only come into play for folks who thought they could be singers because of it, like T-Pain, but deep down in the dark ages that I've dubbed the Auto-Tune Era, a rapper made a full album of auto-tuned singing and called it 808s & Heartbreak. The rapper I'm speaking of? Sadly, Kanye West. (Side note: I'm only recapping this because I assume you all have suppressed any memory of 808s & Heartbreak's existence into the deepest, darkest, and least visited corners of your mind, like me.)
Here's a video of Kanye West at Coachella in 2011 attempting to sing one of his atrocities from 808s & Heartbreak auto-tuneless.
Sad, sad, sad. Kanye wanted to be able to sing so bad in this video, but reality just wouldn't let him, and he literally ended up screaming at the end. Enough to bring a tear to a grown man's eye (Side note: whether that tear is a tear of sadness or a tear of laughter is entirely up to you).
I know it's cool to make fun of Drake because of his singing ways, but next time you go to crack a (most likely bad) joke about him, just remember that there are guys like Kanye who would kill to have his vocal ability in this post-auto-tune world we're living in. You remember, and you remember good.

Chris Rock Produces A DeshawnRaw Sketch Show Pilot For Comedy Central
I know a big deal hasn't been made about this, but this is absolutely huge for the YouTube community. I really hope Comedy Central picks up the show and it does well because that would be 2 for 2 for YouTubers on the network (the guys from Workaholics were discovered on YouTube), which opens up even more doors.
So Comedy Central, please pick up D-Raw! I mean, it couldn't be any worse than Key & Peele, and y'all gave them a 2nd season. Think about it.

Thursday Billboard Update - 7/26/12
Sadly, it's back to a lot of nothing on the Hot 100 this week.
Now give me a moment to highlight the random hypocrisy of Billboard. This week Frank Ocean's Channel Orange fell to #4 with 54,000 sold in its 2nd week, but those numbers don't include sales from Amazon because they sold it for $2.99 this past week. Billboard is alleging that it's their policy to disallow sales to count toward chart placement if the album is sold below its $3.49 minimum in the first 4 weeks of release. Wait, what? Just last June Lady Gaga's Born This Way set a then record for largest percentage sales drop in Billboard history. Born This Way fell 84.27% in its 2nd week largely because its first week sales were artificially enhanced by Amazon offering it for just 99¢ at times during the first week. So when Amazon sold Lady Gaga's album for 99¢ in its first week it was okay, but when they sold Frank Ocean's for $2.99 in its second week, all of a sudden there's a Billboard policy that says its not allowed? I call bullshit, unless they changed the policy immediately after the Lady Gaga debacle.

Boxer Fakes Marriage Proposal
I don't fuck with boxing after that Pacquiao-Bradley bullshit, but I like this guy Adrien Broner! Yeah, I've only known about him for about 10 minutes now, but that's not the point, the dude is already one of my favorites.
The only thing I didn't like about this video was the look on baby girl's face when Broner stood up and said he was too young for marriage. First she had on a fake smile then abandoned that shit almost immediately. I actually felt bad for her. I mean, I don't know how long they've been together (he said it was a "new relationship" at the beginning), but...ahh fuck it, the shit was still funny to me lol.
