Wow, wow, WOW! I couldn't be any more shocked about this trade. I mean, if the Thunder were gonna trade James Harden, you'd figure it would've happened over the summer, not days before the start of the season. Crazy. Anyway, here's the trade breakdown:
Houston gets James Harden, Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook, and Lazar Hayward; OKC gets Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-round pick.
Initially the winner looks like Houston because they got the best player, but upon further review, the big winner is the Los Angeles Lakers. Now instead of having to go through OKC's Big 3, they now only have to go through OKC's Big 2.5. Hell, maybe even Big 2.25, so yeah, the Lakers are definitely the prime beneficiaries of this deal.
